May 11, 2017: Meaghan Burke: Creature Comforts Album Release

Singing cellist Meaghan Burke returns to Joe’s Pub to celebrate the release of her long awaited second album, Creature Comforts. Straddling the worlds of contemporary chamber music, grunge, cabaret, blues, and free jazz, the album brings together musicians from New York and Vienna in a tragicomic musical funhouse of creaturely drones, off-kilter waltzes, and distorted love songs. Meaghan will be joined by a band of her dearest collaborators from the album, including fellow Joe’s Pub veterans The Rhythm Method string quartet, steel-string guitarist Zeke Healy, bass clarinettist Carlos Cordeiro, drummer-percussionist Peter Wise and featuring special guest Protestant Work Ethic (Austria) on vocals and banjo.


May 21, 2017: Queens New Music Festival presents loadbang at The Secret Theater  (Queens, NY)
​loadbang will be performing works by Lei Liang, Joan Arnau Pámies, Scott Wollschleger, Scott Worthington, and Adam Zahller.

June 11-18, 2017: Longy Contemporary Chamber Music Institute (Boston, MA)
​Along with renowned pianist Donald Berman, loadbang will be the featured faculty at Longy’s first Longy Contemporary Chamber Music Institute.  LCCMI will give students the opportunity to engage in daily coachings, hear faculty performances, and participate in student performances and seminars on subjects including atonal and microtonal ear training, performing with electronics, complex rhythms, grant writing, and career development.


June 23-26, 2017: Charlotte New Music Festival (Charlotte, NC)
​loadbang will be an ensemble in residence for the 3rd time at this festival.   After three days of rehearsals, lectures, and masterclasses, the final event will be a program of new works for loadbang by selected student composers on June 26th.
